Today, I learnt 3 persuasive appeals. They are Ethos, Pathos and Logos.

Ethos means an appeal to ethics, and it is a means of convincing someone of the character or credibility of the persuader. Pathos refers to an appeal to emotion and is a way of convincing an audience or a person of an argument by creating an emotional response. Logos refers to convincing a group of people or a person with logic and provide rational reasoning.

Firstly, I would use Ethos to aid me in persuading more students to learn Veena, a South Indian classical instrument. The number of Veena players are gradually decreasing over the years. More people are interested in learning Violin or Piano as those are more popular instruments compared to the Veena. Even the awareness

Pathos means using emotions to achieve persuasion. Most of the time, during the holidays, I would stay home and do my own things like reading books or writing fanfictions. Most of the time I would deny the offer when my friends ask me to tag-along with them because my parents would not allow it. However, after being aware of the term pathos, I will coax them to allow me to meet my secondary school friends. Since my secondary school friends and I have parted ways, we hardly have the time to meet and catch-up. Hence, when opportunities pop up, I would tell my parents that I am only meeting my friends occasionally and since everyone is on their own separate paths, it becomes tedious for us to meet one another. Furthermore, I miss my friends and the old days where we see one another every day in school. Though doctors have advised them on their health conditions, my grandparents have not done many significant changes in order to minimise and prevent their health conditions from worsening. Hence, I did some research on chronic diseases and collated some data from their health conditions. I used these to present clearly with data, images and readings of their current health status and if nothing is done to reverse the condition, the possible consequences that they may face. I will also plan out a healthy dietary eating plan for them. With that, I will convince them that by strictly following through this healthy eating plan, they are on the road to enjoying their old age with no fears and concerns about their health.

All in all, with these 3 persuasion techniques, I will be able to win over certain negotiations and
