This ties in with the first main point of The Declaration of Independence. Abraham Lincoln promised every person freedom and equal rights, so where were these said "equal rights" for the blacks? King didn't only want freedom for that generation, but for the generations in the future as well. For all blacks, he wanted them to be treated just as well and the whites. He hoped that one day, there weren't signs saying "For Whites Only". He wanted everyone to join hands and live together in peace. Though the world is still not at peace, it is a better place than it used to be in terms of segregation and freedom. "I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice." I believe this quote helps back up this paragraph, stating that he didn't want injustice or for the community to be oppressed, but he wanted a place of freedom and
