Reflecting different values, the conclusions drawn about the caskets by the princes further implies their unworthiness to be Portia’s husband. Captured by Portia’s beauty, Morocco decides to judge the caskets based on their value (2.7.49-54). But, this incident, though seemingly flattering to Portia, illustrates another instance where Morocco disregards Portia as a person.
