At first the study possibly could have concluded that more girls were walking through the upper quad because they were walking back to their dorms: Stroup, Huffman, and Edna Moore, from the cafeteria. The first day of observation, there was a ratio of 1:6 with one being the guy and six being the girls. As the other two observations became finalized, there was a more equal ratio, meaning that Monday around 6:00 could have been an outlier regarding gender. More girls were also traveling in groups during all three days of observations, possibly due to the idea of safety in numbers.
Age
Age played an important role in these observations. The time of day affected the movement or flow of people which also spotlighted the idea of age. Non-college students such as adults with a job were moving or leaving certain building like, Spilman, the Business Building, and Marshbanks, on Monday and Thursday during the late afternoon, perhaps they were getting off work. College students were walking in these buildings, and the upper quad more around Sunday night, and Thursday during lunch. The younger college students looked like they were more in rush than the working adults did as well.
