Diversity can mean meaning things, it can identify a person identity or cognitive beliefs. Which would include how a person identify themselves; which could include particular nations, cities, neighborhoods or communities or a specific class, also ethnicity, religion or gender. It would also include knowledge, experience, and physical abilities. The world increasing globalization has now involved more interactions with people of a diverse background. We no longer live or work in limited environments, so the trends that must be changed in order to communicate in a diverse world is ethnocentrism, prejudice and stereotype. Everyone takes pride in their beliefs and their culture, but being ethnocentrism is a belief of superiority and it can only develop into racial or religious …show more content…
In addition, prejudice which is usually an opinion or feeling without knowledge or reason towards a person or group. Also, stereotypes is one of the leading division in the environment we live and work in, and it is tied to prejudice feelings and beliefs about a group of people. Overall, we have to change these diversity trends that has and is causing more conflicts and division in the environment we live in and work in. Although, people tend to be more subtle in the workplace, these areas can only be change with personal convictions. As a leader I can’t allow ethnocentrism, prejudice or stereotype to be a hidden
