This can be observed in the video through the ways of the gang members. Each and every one of the members believes that their gang is the best and that all those who are not a part of it is scum and all those in other gangs need be eliminated. Values are a very important thing to the gang in this video. They distill these in each and every one of their members right off the bat. They teach them that all they do no matter how and it may be seen in the eyes of the law is good in the eyes of their gang. The members are taught that violence is okay and to deal with any problems they have by beating or killing other people. The gang wants each member to be loyal to them and believe in their values so much that once it is seen that one may not agree with the ways of the gang they are executed. Once a person has bemuse a part of the gang they are in that gang for life and most members are taught that there is no other way of life than that of being in this gang. The values bestowed in each of their members is mainly focused around domination of the region they live in and with as quickly as the gang is spreading parts of the world as well. Mainly the norms for the gang are to take over other gangs territories and get rid of anything or anyone that poses a threat to their gang by any means necessary. //306//f. Socialization/pg. 77 are the people or groups that affect our self-concept, attitudes, behaviors, or other orientations toward life. In the video this is a common theme among all of the members of the gang. Family is the first group of people that have an impact on a person. When members joint gang a lot of them do not have family members so being a part of this group gives them a sort of family with the other members. Through being a part of this gang family one is able to establish their idea of themselves. They learn the values and beliefs of the gang and cling to them as to stray from the family.Establishing themselves in this gang gives them a better sense of who they are and what they expect out of life by being a part of it. Being in the gang automatically offers a lot of people a sense of security and stability.
