I am the first of my family who came to the United States. I am here as an international student, I came in 2010 in WA State, Spokane city. I was single and I came by myself without knowing any English word, my purpose is to continue my education and get my master degree in public health. It is a big challenge and a big change for me. Most of my family has not agreed for me to move here and study due to the misunderstanding of western cultures in our media. I remember that when my grandfather told me that if I travel to the United States I might get killed and died because of my religion and my race.

Practicing tradition is one of the most ways to keep the family together and improve the social skill for every member in the family. One of the most things we do on Friday after we finish we pray in the afternoon, most families should visit the oldest person in their family and have lunch with him/her. It is the way of showing respect of elderly person and show him/her who value they are and we are honored to have them in our life.
The Second most things that I like about my culture is when someone gets married. We all as a family, we have to support him and attend his/her wedding and leader of my family are responsible to arrange that. In my wedding I got over than twelve thousand dollars, and I am doing the same thing and helping anyone who wants to get married into my family.
The third tradition that we still do as religion group is to build or donate money every year on behalf of our deaths member in our family, it is the way to show that we respect and memory them and God will love them and put more mercy in their soul. We as family build many mosques in Africa, we dig Wells and we donate money to who may need it outside our family and that for religion
