Native Americans living in California and the early immigrants of California were faced with hardships. The Native Americans identity and culture were taken away. Asian, African, and Latino immigrants faced with discrimination from the whites. Even though the minorities were faced with difficulties, many of them stayed in California and fought for their rights and freedom which has greatly influenced ethnic diversity within the state. “California does not have a single racial group or ethnic groups which makes California a minority-majority state.” (Wikipedia, Demographics of California) “California has the largest population of Latinos” (Wikipedia, Demographics of California) in America and many of Latinos reside in Southern California.
