Gambella region is located in Eastern Ethiopia also known as "Gambella People's Region, is one of the previously known Region 12, capital is Gambella. The region is situated between those two top 10 Ethiopian rivers Baro and Akobo Rivers. One of the most known parks in Ethiopia "Gambella national park" also located in the region covers approximately 5,061 square kilometers or 17% of the region. The region is also believed to have major oil resources, this region caught investor's eye and the government of Ethiopia to turn the region's fertile virgin land into the bread basket of the country.

If the government land policy keeps the indigenous and communities ownership of land as it have been for centuries. But the newly government land policy greatly reserves the right of the government to take any land as needed for development or any other purpose. The new law "government owns land" announced before the land was distributed to foreign investors, contributed to creating a negative impact the Gambella region people and others. The international financial intuition didn't help the local small farmer or the region in fact assisted global companies to come to the region. I believe the region small farmers deserve to be part of the fund.
