A lot of controversy and debates surrounds the ethics of eating animals. The most common argument especially for people living in first world countries is that it is not necessary for survival or health. And killing animals just for the preference of the taste only is unjust. They argue that killing animals for food is unethical because there is plenty of non-animal food resources available. In response supporters of meat eating have included various scientific, nutritional, cultural and religious benefits to support their practice. Some studies show that cow’s pigs and all warm blooded animals show signs and can even experience stress pain and fear in many ways. About 35 million cows, 115 million pigs and 9 billion birds are killed each year just to satisfy the unnecessary dietary preference of the United States. Humans and not primarily meant to eat meat come up in fact humans do not have a large mouth, or pointed teeth or all the features of a carnivorous animals. We have short and flat teeth so we can eat fibrous food. The human anatomy has evolved so we can support primarily a vegetarian diet. Examples of this are the liver of a carnivore is able to detoxify the excess of vitamin A absorbed from meat. But the human liver cannot detoxify excess vitamin A. As evidenced by evolution and the USDA, a vegetarian diet can meet the regular protein requirements of our daily lives, essential amino acids that improve health. It also provides all the necessary vitamins, minerals and fats, which is needed for overall health life. The vegetarian diet is beneficial to our health in many ways. Diets that are high in animal proteins can lead to kidney stones and gallstones.
