Ethics are the morals, or values of an individual. It is the line between right and wrong. Often time we question whether to sacrifice ourselves for the better, or to be selfish, and focus on our happiness. It seems like a sense of direction, which enables us to be successful, or create a sense of fulfillment. Ethics enables us to make choices that we can live with. Sacrifice is necessary, for the wellbeing of everyone. It means to be selfless. Additionally, it seems like an obligation. Some people believe that we are obligated for family, friends, strangers, pets, basically the world. Personally, I do not think that it is, or should be an obligation. We are taught, respect, caring, control, sacrifice, and more. Some people generally has these attributes like they were born that way, and some people are taught for the better of society. It helps put everything in order. I get the worth of ethics, but I am still against the obligation aspect of it. The person that I am cares for others even when I wish I did not, for it is a blessing and a curse. People take advantage of caring people. I do wish I can save the world. This is the reason I work hard, and I want be a lawyer. I believe in second chances, and so on. However, it is still a choice if you want to help others. People will look down on you if you let an innocent child drown, people will stay away from you if you walk around hurting people just because, and you will get punish. Again, actions has consequences, so you make choices that you can live with. It would be nice if we can save the third world. I want all of us to prosper, I think we should all do something about it, but to say it is an obligation bothers me.
Overall, I do not believe in obligations. However, I do believe in kindness, caring, being selfless, and etc. It seems contradicting, but my point is I do what I do because I want to.
