Ethical Position Paper
Ethics plays an important role in our society. It can define what we truly are as a person. In this case, ethics are driven by our actions and choices. Most of these can be related into business, academics, and personal events, etc. Furthermore, they could either end up being good or bad; however, it all depends on the situation. Ethic is described in many factors that define a person’s characteristic; however, it affects the way we believe what is right or wrong as well. More importantly, we need to understand that ethics will continue to change, such as its concept of how it is viewed. It can also establish a culture in specific places, depending on a particular group’s belief. However, what is more important is how it define our character traits. Every action and choices that we make show others how we present ourselves. In this case, a good example for this would be a movie called The Emperor’s Club. It is a 2002 American film about a group of young students building a relationship with their teacher (Canin & Tolkin, 2002). The film also portrays the importance of how the characters reveal their true personality. In this case, Sedgewick who is one of the lead character showed much about his unethical behavior. It begins when he decided to cheat and be irresponsible in front of his teacher. Eventually, he never learned his lesson, as he continues to cheat later in his years. Judging by Sedgewick’s traits, it is clear to understand that his action shows who he really is due to either it is ethical or …show more content…
The reason why is because there is a great variety of ethical issues that could occur in a company. For instance, I remember when I worked at a Greek restaurant, there were some ethical issues, such as lying and stealing. Unethical issues like these needs to be dealt with, since it could affect a business financially and physically. Furthermore, it could change the way a business function. To explain this further, let’s say that if someone continues to do something, then other will follow. In this case, I believe managers must take responsibility for their organization because they are also the cause of ethical issues. To expand upon this, “How will you Measure Your Life” states how people “embrace priorities and follow procedures by instinct” (Christensen, 2010). This is why managers must take action and construct ethical behavior. Without proper ethics in an organization, then there won’t be a steady, positive
