There are four fundamentals principles of ethics: Principles of autonomy, non maleficence (to do no harm), beneficence, and justice. These principles can be used as a guideline to make decisions in everyday in workplace especially when dealing complicated situations involving patients and in order to ensure their safety and care. Autonomy means that patients have the right to retain control over his or her body even though the provider does not believe that these choices are in that patient’s best interest. Non maleficence and beneficence are mainly use when physicians are trying to balance the benefits against the risks that are involve in different medical treatments. Physicians have duty to protect their patients in order to prevent them in harm, as well as help improved their medical situations. Above all the physician needs to make decision with fairness, and upholds applicable laws and regulations when finalizing a decision in order to give the best possible benefits for both patients and others.
