The professional educator does not intentionally expose the student to disparagement, https://www.aaeteachers.org/index.php/about-us/aae-code-of-ethics It was clear from the beginning of the movie Lou Ann Hogan (teacher) had no intentions of embarrassing her student (17 year old student Chad Cadenhead). Chad was brought into her class by a school official. The school official made it clear in front of the whole class that Chad was a problem student. The official also suggested to Mrs. Hogan prior to leaving that she may want to change his seat away from his buddies that were in the class already. Assuming that the teacher was going to move his seat, Chad stood up to go to another set. Mrs. Hogan advised Chad that every student in her class starts with an “A” until they have proven otherwise. Despite the suggested reseating of the student away from his friends, his seat remained. Although, the school official exposed the student to disparagement in front of everyone, Mrs. Hogan did not.

They were dressed in what seemed to be appropriate school attire. However there was a seen in the movie where Mrs. Hogan was sitting on the teacher’s desk with her legs crossed. Due to the type of skirt (a wraparound skirt) she wore the students (peculiarly Chad) was able to view her lower thigh area of her leg. During this time they were discussing unfinished assignments that need to be completed. Chad asked for extra help to get caught up on his assignment after his football practice. This normally is a time that most school officials have left the school
