One potential ethical violation would possibly be: the counselor not referring him to a medical doctor for an evaluation to rule out any medical conditions. Hung could be having trouble sitting still and staying on task because of a medical condition he may not know about. Another possible ethical violation would be accepting food from a client and when he gives her a close hug and a kiss on the cheek is an ethical concern. This type of behavior blurs the counselor and client relationship, so Sara should set stern boundaries with Hung after the first time he did this behavior.

Sara does not have his signature on this document, so there is no proof that Hung helped in devising this plan. In the ACA section A.6.e it discusses Nonprofessional interactions with former clients or their family members, romantic partners. Sara not setting the boundary of the not kissing on the cheek could fall under this ethical code.
The ACA code of ethics section B.1.c. mentions that counselors need to respect the confidentiality of their clients, so with Sara having the counseling session inside of a restaurant it would be hard to protect his confidentiality. In ethical code C.2.e of the ACA it discusses that counselors should take “reasonable steps to consult with other counselors” regarding ethical questions (American Counseling Association, pg. 18, 2014).
