Rodeos include calf roping, bull riding, steer wrestling and bronc wrestling. When these animals are at these events, they are usually zapped with an electric “hot shot” to make them rush out of the gate at full charge, (Rodeos | PETA). Every year, over 250,000 bulls are killed in horrific bull fights, (Humane Society: Bullfighting). The calves’ necks are twisted as they violently slam onto the ground, while the horses involved are viciously forced into bucking. When horses refuse to come out of the gate, the cowboys are allowed to shock them just because they don’t want to do something. They also suffer from drug abuse, breakdowns and even getting slaughtered. The horses are under the pressure of getting whipped and …show more content…
The animals suffer from inhumane conditions, but the humans are also suffering. Human health is being hurt by intensive farming systems in factory farms. Approximately 56 billion animals are killed each year by humans. The bad health comes from farms that are not properly maintained resulting mainly in Salmonella, E. Coli. Salmonella is caused by a contaminated food or water, and E coli is a disease that comes from warm-blooded organisms. These pathogens can also be spread from person to person contact. Before these animals are killed and served they are fed tons of different kinds of antibiotics to fight off these pathogens, but over time these pathogens are evolving and mutating to fight off this antibiotic. Antibiotics are being misused and overused, and people are beginning to be too dependent on these antibiotics. With this happening, it causes potential dangerous pathogen spreads between people and animals. This isn’t fair to the animals because this wasn’t the animal's choice, even though they can’t let someone know what they want and what they don’t want, it still is common sense that no animal would want that done to them. Eventually all the animals will pick up on the treatment of antibiotics given to them before being slaughtered, that will result in depression from many of the other animals. No animals want to have to go through that process. The
