Aristotle is one of the four personal and moral development theorists. Aristotle believes the highest level of good can be obtained through virtue, practical wisdom and Eudamonia (Morrison, 2015). What Aristotle’s theory is saying is humans can achieve the highest level of good by educating themselves to increase knowledge and develop moral virtue. With the added knowledge, humans can learn to evaluate actions and overcome impulses to make practical decisions. This high level of good can only be maintained through ongoing practice and character building.
I chose Aristotle because I believe personal and moral development starts from the individual. Individuals who want to make ethical decisions can achieve the highest level of good by educating themselves on the topic issue at hand. When new process and procedures change and I get notified to distribute the information to my team, do I immediately filter the information down to my team or do I check to see if the new change is practical before informing my team of the new change? From my experience and past mistakes, it is best to seek out the purpose of the new change, assess its pros and cons, double check the process for practicality and how the team will react to the new change prior to informing the team. This method has helped me work out the kinks and prepare necessary information my team needs for a smooth transition and implementation. In order to maintain this practicality, I strive to practice and learn from my mistake. This is how I can build my moral character and achieve the highest level of good or
