Do you purchase cosmetic products, including personal hygiene products, such as shampoo, lotion, deodorants and makeup? The answer is probably yes, because as Americans the mandate to consume is encouraged ad nauseum, coupled with statements that say something is “new and improved”. Nevertheless, there many reasons why these seemingly small things, have a big impact. The cosmetic industry has an annual revenue of over fifty billion dollars a year. But, by buying these products you may be paying for the torture and mutilation of animals. There is a conspiracy going on within the companies to hide the truth behind all these new products and the government has mostly turned their back to the issues.

Many scientists stated that medical accomplishments that used animal testing may still have been made without such procedures. However, two emerging methods have proved promising and are already in use be cruelty free companies. The first a modern test tube method, which can distinguish toxic from non-toxic cosmetic ingredients, without cruel animal-poisoning experiments. Not to mention they have a large database on the site, which is handy for online shopping. Also, if you’re worried about how well the products compare to you old one, a quick internet search will yield blogs and videos of people, whose job it is to test out all types new products, so that you can find the right ones suited to your personal
