The countless amounts of unethical scientific researches that were conducted by well respected scientists cannot be numbered. The amount of victims of unethical scientific research also cannot be numbered, but just another aspect that exposes the discrepancies of many health care professionals who took advantage of the respect, the trust and, the faith those patients instilled. Henrietta Lacks a woman of prestige, a woman of significant importance, and a woman of color was violated by health care professionals. The health care providers utilized the illegally obtained cells from Henrietta who was poke and prodded before and after her death. In the book “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” author Rebecca Skloot uncovers “She signed a form with the words of operation permit at the top of the page” a statement found in the book showing that Henrietta signed to the consent of the operation permit, but that form did not include the ability of any physician to extract anything from Henrietta’s body. The mysterious death of a young healthy twenty-six year old male named Dan Markingson. It was noted that less than six months after being in a clinical trial Markingson died at the University of Minnesota, ironically the same university in which Dr. Elliot taught medical ethics. After discovering the death of Dan Markingson Dr. Elliot began inquiring his colleagues about the events in which led to the death of Dan, in result he received a hush and reserved tone on the topic. Seeing that, Dr. Elliot didn’t get much information he looked into medical and court records, after examining the records he discovered that the same drug that Dan Markingson was taking before his death was being promoted to market forces. Stated in the article “The Deadly Corruption of Clinical Trials” written by Dr. Elliot he mentioned that “Olson (Dan’s Physician) believed Dan was psychotic and dangerous, and lacked the ability to make decisions regarding his treatment; on November 14 he signed a document that recommended Dan be committed involuntarily to a state mental institution, noting that he lacks the capacity to make decisions regarding such treatment.” Three days after the doctor signing documentation stating that Mr. Markingson was not capable of making decisions for
