The use of technology could impact students’ learning and teaching in a negative form, because they can serve as distractions and the reliability of the technology. Distractions could stem from social media and gaming. An illustration of this would be professors or teachers, who conduct a lecture, but the student was distracted by the use of technology, because they were on social media or playing computer games rather than listening to the lecture that was given. The reliability of the technology was the false information that students could obtain from the internet, especially from websites that have not been classified as reliable. The distractions and the lack of reliability could present ethical concerns for students using technology in the school setting (Gardelli, Alerby & Persson, 2014). In the school setting, the use of technology had both negative and positive implications on education.
