Ethical Issues In College Campus

Over the past couple of weeks on the college campus, there have been recent reports of bullying and harassment among the students. Many students have disclosed that they have been discriminated against and excluded from various parts of the campus. One African American student claimed a large group of males cornered her against a wall and shouted derogatory language in her face. This situation has developed into a problem that is interfering with learning and the safety of the students. The president of Bellevue College has ordered a mandatory meeting to resolve the issues that we have at hand. Professor Malthus, Paz, Po-Chu- I, Weil, and Epictetus have all been witnesses of this inappropriate behavior. The president has demanded that they explain their accounts and offer suggestions as to how the problems should be addressed.

I do not know how I would feel if there were costumes present at the event though. We do not need fancy costumes to solve a problem of inequality. A social gathering is a great idea, but, it will never change the fact that the poor and rich on this campus will never get along. The rich care too much about their materialistic things and it interferes with any possible connections that could develop between a rich and poor student. This is me speaking for the lower classes on campus, we need to come to accept the fact that we were born into this social structure at the very bottom. Professor Weil, I thank you for trying to recognize that we do not have equal opportunities, but it is something I have learned to accept. Thank you President for inviting me to speak at this meeting, and thank you to the rest of you for attempting to find a solution to this inequality that is spreading across our campus.
