Hair coloring is when hair dye/bleach is used to change the color of one’s hair. There is a certain chemical process involved in dying ones hair. Hair coloring has been used all throughout history and has solved many social and personal problems. However, coloring ones hair also has positive and negative side effects as well as implications through an ethical point of view.

Hair coloring is the practice of changing ones hair color, whether its through bleaching or dying with different colors, sometimes permanent and sometimes semi-permanent. Keeping the focus on permanent hair coloring; permanent color is used for a more big color change, for example, black to blonde. In this level of hair coloring, the 2 main ingredients are ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. This type of hair coloring usually uses a two step process which first removes the original color of the hair and then deposits a new one. Starting with the positives, Hair coloring can be seen as a way of life for multiple people, some of these people change their hair color for creative reasons as well as just to cover up grey hair. But hair dye offers positive ethical implications in the aspect of a person's well being and how they feel.. (“Benefits to Hair Coloring”) Hair color is an identity to many people and once it is changed, a person can become a totally different person. Sometimes coloring peoples hair helps bring out what they are feeling inside or how they want to feel. “The right hair color can give confidence, enhance your mood, and make you feel [attractive] again.” Says White. (White) Hair color can really boosts someone's self esteem and self-confidence, which is always a good and ethical thing. In general, hair coloring can help people find comfort in themselves and certain life events.
