The monopolizing companies would block all the showing space so there would be none left for anyone else. This was one major barrier that the Big Five companies put up. In 1948 the District Court, the Department of Justice decided that the only way to fix the problem would be to make the Big Five studios to sign a decree that will make them separate their theatres from their production and selling of movies. Implementing changes to the MPAA, Motion Picture Association of America, rating system eliminates foul behavior, protects children’s environments, and models appropriate language expected from them. The current rating system hurts places such as school, streets, and the home environment. For example, if a teenager watches a NC-17 movie he will act older. Since the content is restricted from the teenager, it will instigate the teen to act more mature and want to act as the actors (Gustafson 1). He is now mimicking older citizens as if he was a young toddler learning how to speak.an easy fix to this is more security and cameras for the movie theater.…

Media conglomerates run the MPAA as a trade association to give unfair advantages to big corporations and to preserve its monopoly over the film industry. Dick’s research exposes the organization’s lobbying and rating movies in favor of the six leading Hollywood studios and the larger megacorporations under which they operate. There are various people who feel strongly about the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), which censor movies based on their content. The MPAA rating system prevents many problems from occurring by appropriately rating and censoring all films that are shown in movie theaters everywhere. DVDs are also rated and censored. Some may argue that the MPAA rating system is a harassment to freedom/expression and should not have to be a requirement for all films shown in theaters. However, movie censorship prevents the minds of children from becoming corrupt.…
