In order to understand what ethics truly represent we must also look at the things that it is not. Ethics is not about our own personal feeling, it’s not about fitting in with societal norms it is not about imposing our own religious beliefs because we think they are correct, it is not choosing to help some and not all because of preconceived notions. What ethics is “The fundamental values of the human services profession include respecting the dignity and welfare of all people; promoting self-determination; honoring cultural diversity; advocating for social justice; and acting with integrity, honesty, genuineness and objectivity.” (http://www.nationalhumanservices.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43)…

A Respiratory Therapists role in long-term care facility and Homecare My time working at CCOH and RHCS was exciting and interesting. Although they are both respiratory therapist jobs, they each demonstrated something different. While CCOH showed how it is to work in a long-term facility and have consistent patient interaction. At RHCS driving around to the client’s place of business or residence to check on, or collect the equipment, made it personal able.…

I am thankful for the opportunity because I understood America’s health care system better and also learned about careers in health care other than becoming a physician. I witnessed how different health care departments worked together to provide the best care. Such as social workers, nurse assistants, gynecologists, physicians, nurses, counselors, and many more. I also had the privilege of working on the Safe Sleeping research project for the Ottawa County Health Department. I was educated on the policy changes over the past years to prevent the prevalence of SIDS and how the number of SIDS cases has decreased since it has been brought to attention.…
