privileges, as the director of the magazine, to order people around. She is an authoritarian who
doesn’t have compassion for others. Additionally, she takes pleasure out of humiliating her
employees. She assures Andrea that she is disappointed in her because she can’t meet her needs.
For instance, she demonstrates this by saying “So I told myself, go ahead. Take a chance, hire
the same smart fat girl”. She constantly threatens Andrea by firing her if she doesn’t perform in a
