Ethical dilemma is a complex situation that involves mental conflict between moral imperatives of when obeying one might end up transgressing another. It is also known as moral dilemma or called ethical paradoxes in moral philosophy. Ethical dilemmas come about when we try to rebut an ethical system or code of ethics, or to improve it to resolve what contradict it. Ethical dilemma is also a process of trying to choose between two options, of which both are morally right but in conflict and neither resolves the situation in an ethically acceptable way. Nurse-client relationship is an interaction aimed at enhancing well-being of a client, which could be an individual, family, a group, or a community. Peplau’s theory is highly relevant to nurse-client relationship. The major aspect of the theory is that the nurse and client become more knowledgeable and mature during the course of the relationship. Peplau believed that client stands to be benefit better health when all the specific needs are fully considered in the relationship and the relationship is depended on the interaction of thoughts, feelings and action of both nurse and client.
