The most reasonable decision making process includes following eight steps that is identify the problem, identify potential issues involved, reviewing relevant ethical guidelines, know the laws and regulations, obtain consultation in considering the possible course of action, list the consequences of the probable courses of action, and figure out what is the best course of action.

In most cases the teacher will let you do the assignment over with points being deducted. Very rarely they will give you a zero for the assignment. Once a student has two documented plagiarism, the Dean will be involved who may than refer the offense to the Academic Standards Committee for review, to include consequences of suspension or ex-spelled from school.

The poster, the student, the professor and the university should be held accountable for letting students use someone else work. The original poster of the assignment shouldn’t sell their paper to a website that will give anyone full access to the paper. If the poster would like to assist students, they can post some of their paper confirming that the entire is not used anymore. Sometimes looking at previous papers students can get ideas to help them get started or finishing the assignment which does not require the complete assignment. Student that retrieves and uses a paper should be reprimanded. Replicating someone else’s work and not giving credit is unacceptable. Even though this has been going on before the internet students need to understand the circumstances and provide their own paper.
