There are specific ethical characteristics that counselors should possess in order to avoid any wrongdoings in the counseling profession that can end having detrimental consequences. More importantly, breaking these rules can often lead to either losing credentials, licensing, or even forced to leave the profession due to a number of sanctions that exist within the counseling profession.
