I found your out of the box response very interesting. You identified a great historical example of ethics and it inspired me to pursue other historical examples of ethical codes. Through my research the oldest code of ethics I found was written in 57 AD. These ethics come from the verses 9-21 of the 12th chapter in the book of Romans. This code of ethics has been followed by millions of people across the globe and has knowingly and unknowingly served as the basis for most of the ethical codes we follow today. Many of these ethics are based upon loving, honoring and respecting your fellow man and when you get down to where the rubber meets the road they summarize what out text was based upon.
