Ethics is a part of an individual or a society’s everyday life and ethical values define the character of an individual (teacher, principal, citizen) or an institution. As teachers have their own set of classroom expectations, an organization has its own goals, which include increasing its performance and accountability, and establishing healthy and constructive relationships among employees. Numerous member organizations affiliated with the National Policy Board for Educational Administration (NPBEA, 2002) and the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) have established a set of ethical codes for school principals.
