The two trends I would like to highlight would be commitment to ethical behavior and broader views of leadership. A commitment to ethical behavior is basically the choice to subscribe to any ethical principles and making sure things such stereotypes, attitudes and favoritism never enter decisions made in the workplace (Uhl-Bein et al, 2014, p. 19). Broader views of leadership relate to the concept that businesses can no longer rely strictly on managers for leadership. Leadership must come from all employees, found at all levels of the organization and not follow a pyramid style of leader but instead flow from all directions (Uhl-Bein et al, 2014, p. 6).

Complex adaptive systems however are constantly and adapting and evolving to survive since our world is constantly changing economically, socially and politically (Uhl-Bein et al, 2014, p. 12). Stakeholders also hold a strong position in the external environment since they have an interest or financial stake in organizations success. Internal environment revolves around other factors such as organizational culture which are an organizations beliefs and values, organizational climate which Uhl-Bein (2014) defines as a shared perception of members regarding what the organization is like in terms of management policies and practices. Organizational culture would be what the company defines its belief and values are, while organization climate would be what the members of said organization think of the company’s beliefs and values. While a company may publically state their primary goal is customer service and taking care of employees, members of the organization might have a very different view on the matter.

The management process consists of four functions; planning, organizing, leading and controlling. These steps are not meant to be completed step by step but simultaneously and are meant to be accomplished as the manager acts out the ten managerial roles.
• Technical skills vs. Human skills
A technical skills is the ability to perform a specific task by using past knowledge or any specialized training received for that particular task. Human skills simply put are the ability to work well with people, whether they are customers, coworkers or management.
• Amoral Managers vs. Moral Managers
Amoral managers are managers who sometimes act unethically but never do so purposely. They have lapses in judgement which can sometimes cause them to act unethically. A moral manager on the other hand never acts unethically, he/she never falls prey to stereotypes, favoritism or taking credit for work that was not their
