Write An Essay On Why I Want To Be An Esstp

Since I was young I have always been interested in keeping active I don’t like to stay put in one place for an extended period of time. I’ve always liked to hike, fish, play baseball and play hockey. I have never been one to just sit around 24/7. All the personality tests I have taken in this class have for the most part explained my personality. When I took the Myers Briggs test it said that my personality was an ESTP. ESTP’S love to go on adventures and do daring things. Which is part of the reason I like to hike, I get to climb up high mountains and in some parts of the mountain I go on you have to climb up rocks and over water. It also said that we like to be the center of attention. Which that is me in a way, I don’t like to be the center of attention all the time but when I play baseball for example I always strive to be the best player on the field every time. My goal is to get …show more content…
I also can’t learn just from reading off my notes, I have to make flash cards on Quizlet and go over them a bunch of times until I finally get it. The Holland code papers said I was conventional and realistic. Which pretty much means that I’m practical, polite and independent. I agree with this because although I like to be active and hangout with my friends I sometimes feel like I need some quiet time to myself. The quiet time gives my brain time to rest and recover from being with people so long.
The personality test didn’t exactly teach me new information about myself, it just put what I already knew about myself into a few words. it told me that I’m hard working, realistic and an adventurer. I’m not shy and I like to be the center of attention sometimes. They were mostly accurate in showing my personality but some things were true just not completely

I have learned many things from the McGraw-Hill Connect Self-Assessment that will help me be a better employee, coworker, and or manager. I have to understand that there are people within the office that potentially may or will have differing personality characteristics than mine. By understanding and recognizing these differences I will be better suited to work with anyone in my organization. I tend to work well with anyone regardless, however I will be able to see what motivates my coworkers. If I am in a management role or the person in charge of a project I will be able to use personality differences to my advantage to where I can place employees where they are the strongest in order to help with team dynamics when we are forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning.…

I learned a lot when the class discussed individual differences. The major takeaway from this topic is that I should not assume other people’s reaction or behaviors based on my own personality because every person has a unique personality. The Wolfgang Keller at Konigsbrau-TAK case gave a good illustration about how differences in personality and lack of deep communication between people can hinder cooperation and work relationship. The Big 5 Personality Assessment I took gave me a clearer view about how my own characteristics are different from the overall characteristics of my peers. For example, according the test, I has a higher need for mental stability than my peers.…

There were too many variables that make the test less reliable. In contrast I do think the introvert vs. introvert personality assessment was a reliable test. I think I would consistently answer the questions the same due to its specificity. It is a valid form of testing because it is specifically testing if you are either introverted or extroverted. This test also seemed to assess my behaviors in certain social settings as well as how I feel in a social setting.…
