Principles of relation building with children, young people and adults is the same. Building up a good relation is not quick. There are certain factors which helps it to develop. Communicating effectively helps to develop a good relation with children.…
The principles of relationship building with children, young people and adults are very similar with key features such as listening and understanding, interpretation, being considerate and respectful. Other aspects such as taking time to listen and not making a person feel rushed has a big impact on relationship building as well as maintaining a sense of humour and most importantly remembering issues which are personal to the person you are trying to build a relationship with. This one thing is key to making an immediate connection with a person and helps them relate to you and feel listened to. This can be in the form of remembering that a young person supports a particular football club and chatting with them about the weekendâ€TMs game or…
For all of my life, building close relationships has been the key to my success. I form relationships successfully in a small, comfortable setting. In school, classrooms are an accessible way for myself to accomplish this with my teacher. For every teacher I was close to, the class I had with them was my top class. One of the main reasons I chose Clarkson College was because I admired it was a private college with a limited student to teacher ratio.…
There are several principles involved when relationship building with children, young people and adults. Firstly you need to engage with the person you are dealing with. Dependent on the age of the person, techniques will need to be adapted. When you truly engage with someone they will believe you are interested in what they have to say, in their ideas, answers and opinions.…
NO SMILING ZONE In the 6-weeks before I started teaching (crash course of "everything you need to know about education and what we didn't cover you can find in this book") I heard the same statement frostudents_bannerm every single one of my teachers, advisors, mentors, and administrators each day - "whatever you do - DON'T SMILE."…
n order to build a relationship you need to always make clear points so there is no misunderstanding. Also when having discussion with a child it is important to know what they have taken from it by having them repeat the key points you've made, by doing so you know if they haven't understood you can use a different way of communicating. Being considerate to others will also help as you know if they are in a mood and not having a good day you should just try to help them or give them space. Listening is an important key principle in building a relationship because it shows respect and courtesy.…
Modelling effective communication is an important part of forming positive relationships for children, who then can form positive relationships with other children and adults. It helps children to feel comfortable if they have something to convey, therefore it helps with their own self-esteem and confidence, although it also benefits everyone. It also helps children to understand what is going on, this can help the children to feel settled, otherwise it could cause an atmosphere which will only make any situation worse. If children have a positive relationship they are more likely to share information about how they feel. Children may not be exposed to positive relationships outside of school, so when they attend school it’s important that they understand what is expected of them and this is done though communication.…
Laughter. It is universal and it is complex. There are many theories associated with laughing all trying to answer whether laughter an acquired social construct or is it an innate behavior that has been engineered from our biology? A drive is an “excitatory state produced by a homeostatic disturbance” (melon, 1996), an inherent demand that carries the potential of activating and forcing the behavior of the individual.…
While doing this observation I tried to blend into the environment, to not make it obvious that I was observing and taking notes, I tried to cover all of this by using my phone most of the time like everyone was doing to take notes. I observe a total of 4 public settings on the Bloomfield College campus including the library, dining area, and the Star-Computer Lab. I spent a total of 20 minutes in each location. The main task of this observation was to observe the social life going on in each location. But what I noticed is that almost everyone was more focus on using their phone rather then being socializing or doing their work.…

Neuroscience is a new study in the sense of education because they are beginning to explore the biological processes and its relationship with education. Students are faced with many different challenges when it comes to getting an education including learning disabilities and stress that is presented in the classroom. Children and young adults that are still in school can experience a variety of different things while they are in the classroom over the years. The teacher is one of the only people that can control the classroom and how the experience is for each of these classes.…
My experience with math has not been consistent. Some years in school involved a extra time working on math problems, while other years were relaxed for me. Through all of the hours working hard to succeed in math, I learned to be a better teacher. My first memories of math begin in first grade.…
Be a Motivator Our motivation seems to decrease as we get old. When we are born, we have the motivation to do anything. As children, we are all over the place and into everything.…
Teaching is what I love most. A teacher is one person among the few who have the opportunity to change one’s life and forever the person will never be the same again. A good teacher should be able to create a good learning and teaching environment and then be able to utilize every single opportunity for passing on whatever he/she has. In doing this one can increase knowledge and understanding that in turn transform the life of the learner positively.…
Lessons from the Classroom Introduction “For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.” Aristotle summed up well what the reflections that follow are about. The Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) course introduces many important lessons. However, the most significant ones are learnt by putting the theory into practice in the classroom: 1.…
