This is the book where Betsy Byars takes a short break from the world of her usual fiction novel, and finally write an autobiography similar story of her childhood life and also some hints about her current one. The name of the snake is Moon and Betsy Byars found it her porch. After Moon had ran away, she would always wonder where the snake could be. She could not wait until she grows up so she could have as many pets as she wanted. It took about forty years until she got a pet snake. In this admirably written book, the author of this book defines her friendship with snake she grow to love so much, Betsy Byars tells a little bit of her childhood explorations, and she gives helpful writing tips which is super awesome. This is a book that everyone will enjoy if they ever give this book a chance. I had never read any of her books before this class, Betsy Byars has an amazing way with words. Now I cannot wait to being my classroom library because this book will be on my shelf. This book is well written and I really enjoy how she give us helpful writing tips. …show more content…
Byars focuses on the humorous results of mysterious black snake recent encounter with a very small, slightly young lady. The woman, interesting things about snakes, and the way the author use the writing process opened doors for children to enjoy this book. This book will get my future students on their tip toes. This is a truly inspiring choice for anyone to read. I guarantee my future students will not want to put this book down. This book will capture their attention the use of dialogue to capture the humor or irony of the moment as she also uses short sentences as her style of conversation, and tells how she has arrives at the ideas for her books.
