This means that my personality typically understands the difference between right and wrong, and leads and organizes groups of people to get things done. The MBTI has helped me realize my strengths as a person, but also as a writer. Further, the MBTI also helped me recognize my weaknesses, so I can become a better person, but also a better writer. Being classified as an ESTJ fits my personality type well. ESTJ’s are logical, analytical, and tough-minded individuals who use concrete facts in systemic ways, according to the CPP pamphlet. Being an introvert (I) means that I like to have a clear, precise message when writing. For example, nobody wants to read about 20 different things when reading a flyer. They want to read about one thing, and all the details that go with it. My sensing and thinking traits also go well with workplace writing. People who are like me present and provide the reader with facts in a contextual order. This is helpful in workplace writing because people reading a memo, flyer, email, or letter like to know that facts and do not want to spend the time to searching for them. My last trait I think is the most important in workplace writing. People who are classified as “judging” are decisive writers. They are people who work on set schedules, and try to get work done ahead of time. This is important in the workplace an employee needs to get their work done on time to make the company run efficiently. Late work will only slow the company down and cause delays in future

According to my result of the MBTI, my personality type was categorized as ISTJ. The characteristics associated with ISTJ are “organizer, trustworthy, responsible, good trustee or inspector”. Having brought up in an environment where my parents held leader and responsible positions, as well as constantly busy with their work, I completely agree with this result, as their roles might have a significant impact on shaping my personality. In addition to these characteristics, I would also define myself as very focused, determined, and detail-oriented person.
