Students will come in at the beginning of class, collect their materials for the day from their backpacks and then place their backpacks in their cubbies. After putting their backpacks away, they will walk to their seat quietly, sit down, and wait for further instructions.
2 Ending the class
At the end of class, I want to have a set of essential questions that makes the students think about the key concepts they learned for the day. By doing this, I will be able to reach back into their schema one last time before they leave for home and hopefully that will keep their thoughts of the lesson alive. After my essential questions, I will have the students retrieve their backpacks from their cubbies according to good behavior. The students will then place their materials into their backpacks and then line up at the door for either the bus or for their ride home.
