Chapter One

Maia's POV

Where am I? I looked around to see a lot of buildings – tall ones – and strangely moving transportation machines. I sat on a bench with someone I didn't recognize. I felt somewhat happy with this person. My heart began to pump very fast. My cheeks were blushing intensely. My hands began to sweat. Sweaty palms? Not a good sign. I finally looked up to see his brown cocoa like eyes and brown hair. His lips mouthed something in a language I didn't understand. I didn't hear these words clearly. He leaned for a kiss. Then I heard this person speak for the first time.

“My Lady. Time to wake up”.

He was talking in Latin like me. In a strangely feminine sounding voice? Then out of nowhere before I could say a word I awoken

Magdalena found my pink/white robe for me.

“I'll run your bath for you, my lady”, She Reminded me before going into the bathroom.

She turned on the bathroom faucet with lukewarm water. I couldn't stop thinking of that dream. Who was that? No one on Mars looks so... different. Human-like. There are not any humans here. Everyone has the exact same skin tone and hair color as me. Everyone has white hair and dark caramel skin. Having brown hair/eyes with different color skin is unique to me. I was in complete thought not noticing Magdalena trying to get my attention.

“My Lady, you looked troubled. What's wrong? ” She Asked in deep concern for my well-being.

I shrugged in confusion trying to gather my thoughts. “Maggie...?” I began to say in mid sentence with my best friend's childhood name.

We always share each others secrets. Her head piped with attention stopping what she was doing. “Yes?” She Responded in

“It was a dream I had. It felt like a vision”, I explained.

My friend continued to be listen. “In my dream, I was in the park I was happy spending time with a boy who was my age”.

Magdalena looked more relieved. “Your Highness, there's nothing wrong about dreaming about the opposite sex. You're only 16--”. She began with a sincere smile.

I shook my head in disagreement. No!

“What was wrong with it? ” She Asked.

My cheeks began to blush. “W-well.. ”, I stammered.

“It was a human”, I whispered.

My friend's expression changed instantly.

I knew what would happen to me if anyone discovered this. Any mentions of humans or having any romantic advances are all strictly forbidden. If anyone had such thoughts shall be executed instantly. My parents, the king and the queen, would personally be performing the execution or banishment. In my spare time, I read books about humans and their civilization they call “Terra”.

Magdalena's expression is a summary of most of the planet's reaction. Shock and pure disappointment.

“Your Highness, you know what happens to our people when caught doing such a crime”. She Mentioned with a stern look.

My face turned pale. Oh no. This is not happening
