In April 1917, the United States joined World War I with its allies—Britain, France and Russia. Despite that President Wilson proclaimed American neutrality and many Americans were not in favor of the United States entering the war, the United States finally did enter the war. So, why did the United States become involved in World War I and is it related to its growing power as an Empire?
