Money is money no matter what form it is in, cash, check, credit, and even scholarships as well. Student-athletes are given more than they actually realize. But yet they are convinced they need more because of the activities they perform on a daily basis. I believe they do not truly understand how how much they are granted over a four year span. Maybe reading over the job description before executing their decision the way they did the would not have to be in such a “tough” situation. I am going to tell you why in fact you actually come out on top over the four years you attend college and how colleges will actually not make that much money off of your name.
To say student athletes don’t already get paid every year is a very absurd statement to make. That year “smaller colleges” (Western Kentucky) lost $8.2 million dollars from their football team. Only 20 teams in the country could have the ability to pay their athletes without having to go into even more “debt” than what they already are in. College athletics would then become a very unfair situation to the other 90 colleges who can’t afford to pay their athletes. I believe that almost all recruits would be extremely persuaded to play sports at a school that will pay you to play.
