An alternate solution to their forbidden love could have been to simply tell their parents that although the families were feuding, they had somehow fallen in love. In Juliet's soliloquy in Act II Scene II, she says that she doesn't care that Romeo is a Montague, and that he would be the same person if he had a different name. Despite the feud between her parents and his, she still wants and loves him and doesn't care that he's from the family she's supposed to hate. If Romeo and Juliet had just told their parents about their love in spite of the feud, then their deaths could have been avoided. Romeo was already banished after his fight with Tybalt, so they could have lived in the town in which Romeo was staying. This way, they would have been away from the feud and their parents' rules. Living together away from home, they would have had a chance to be a married couple and love each other without having to hide it.
