Laina Gath Mrs. Mitchell English 9 April 5, 2024 Romeo and Juliet When a catastrophe happens, is it ever just one person's fault? There are many contributing factors to every situation, and every situation is different. However, in every case, someone contributed enough to be blamed for the whole thing. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is to be blamed for his own death because he was driven by emotion and would often act without thinking. Maybe other people helped lead to the decisions he made, but ultimately he was dramatic and impulsive. The death of Romeo was influenced by many factors, but ultimately it was his fault. In many different parts of the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo was dramatic and extra. He would claim he was in love one minute and cause a huge commotion. He didn't have to, Romeo was irresponsible and not thinking about the consequences, which was not uncommon for him. Romeo often wouldn't think about the consequences of his actions, but would depend on his emotions instead. Romeo never had a true sense of what love truly was and other people like Friar Lawrance knew that too. He would say he's in love after the first glance at a pretty woman. This was brought to his attention because it wasn't like he didn't realize that he didn't know what love was truly about. He chose to go to Friar a day after meeting Juliet to ask him to marry them. Friar being a full grown adult should have known better than marrying two kids. However, this wasn't uncommon at the time and Friar was also looking out for the greater good to try and end the feud between families. Romeo, on the other hand, shouldn't have asked because he had only just met Juliet. Being aware of the fact that the Capulets and Montegues where foes Romeo still asks Friar to “Save what thou must combine/ By holy marriage” This was very spontaneous and looking at the end results was definitely Romeo's
