Yusef Lateef has won many awards in music in 2007 he achieved an award from Massachusetts University artist of the year. He has also had achievements in teaching he has a bachelor degree and masters degree in music education from Manhattan university of music. Lateef he also has his own day in San Francisco, California. Bill Clinton invited Yusef to the white house in 2000 for a state dinner. He is also obviously a Nea Jazz Master inducted in 2010 he later got a letter from President Obama congratulating him for his award. This piece has a very eastern style but is still dreamy along with it. Another of Yusef’s most respected pieces is Love Theme From The Robe on his Eastern sounds album.
