World war 1 had a big impact on society. You may ask yourself, what caused world war 1. More importantly the factors that caused it. The growth and outpouring of nationalism in Europe in the 1800’s and early 1900’s is the overall cause of the first world war. It impacted most,if not all, of the causes of the war. I disagree that nationalism was what caused world war 1, because of the numerous amount of rules played during this time of world war 1.
Nationalism led European nations compete for the largest army and navy, or the greatest industrial development. It also gave groups of subject people the idea of forming independent nations of their own. Nationalism itself explains why I disagree with the source, because nationalism only controlled competition for the best army and navy.
