Throughout my academic journey, there have been times where I have broken down because of the immense amount of work. I was quiet in the house, moping around, and giving attitude towards my parents. Instead of being a stereotypical asian parent by yelling or scolding at me for my "shortcoming" and behaviors, they instead comforted me. Telling me to relax, they encouraged me to take a small break from school assignments.They said that I should take a small break and then work on my assignments afterwards. Little tips like this allowed me to take a break and just be thankful for the parents I have despite my actions towards them. While the pain of staying up late at night and working on homework hurts, it was only temporary. My work ethic and my mindset is to work hard the first time. My parents knew that their struggles were only temporary because they were going to a better place: A country of freedom and opportunity. They knew that starting a family in the states had a lot more benefits than trying to raise a family in Vietnam. They knew that the life in Vietnam was no place to raise a child. They knew that following their faith wholeheartedly will in the end work well for a
