It took real life superheros to help bring equality to women. One of the most well known and documented during this time period was Lady Bird Johnson; wife of President Lyndon B. Johnson. She was one of the first women, with power in the White House, to lead a campaign to bring equal rights to women. She strived to better the workplace and political opportunities for the common woman. She is credited to all but saving her husband’s congressional office during the period he volunteered for WW2. She took over many of his duties proving that a woman can handle a man’s job in any field. This opened the eyes to many which would later help with women becoming a normal member in politics.
Throughout the United States history women have had a rough time making a name for themselves in their social and political lives. It took real life superheroines to forge a path for women to gain the rights that they have now. With the entrance of Wonder Woman, females finally had a character to help represent their strengths and prove that women can do a job just as well as any male can. Although the creation of Wonder Woman didn’t single handedly changed how women were viewed, it gave them an outlet enabling them to give a voice to their ideas through which many would be interested
