Wonder Woman What really pleased me in this movie was how determined and self-less Diana’s character was. Her whole goal when facing the real world was to protect others and restore peace by destroying Ares, the god of war. At this time, she had been previously sheltered on the island protected by Zeus. Now, she was on her own and about to enter into World War II. When she was brought in front of the generals of the allies, she was speechless. How could such men not make more of an effort to save innocent people and end the war? If the generals were not going to make an effort, she was. By the end of the movie she helped save the lives of millions by empowering soldier Steve Trevor to do more. The hardest part of this movie that did not work for me was the World War II aspect. That has always been a topic that is hard for me to watch, read, or learn about. I am deeply grieved by the deep hatred and killing of innocents. It may not “work” for me, but it was a crucial aspect to this movie. There would not be much of a plot if the war was not involved. The movie is a story about a hero placed into the setting of real history. Yes, the story has been tailored to fit the fiction plot but the war and setting are crucial to this movie. One did not see much of his character, but by the end, everyone saw the truth. Sir Patrick was working as a general on the allied side trying to sway the rest of the generals from signing a peace agreement. Eventually he sent solider Steve Trevor and Wonder Woman into the fire.
