Will Grayson, Will Grayson is a fiction novel written by both John Green and David Levithan in 2010. The writing for the book was split evenly between the two authors, with Levithan writing the even numbered chapters and Green writing the odd numbered chapters. Before writing the book, the two authors agreed that the two characters would eventually meet. The story is written in two different perspectives, Will Grayson and will grayson. In order to distinguish between the two characters, Green wrote Will Grayson with capitalized letters while Levithan wrote in lowercase.
In Green’s chapters, the reader gets to know the life of Will Grayson, a heterosexual teenage student who has a gay best friend named Tiny Cooper and a crush on Tiny’s friend, Jane. Like his other books, Paper Towns, Looking for Alaska, and An abundance of Katherines, John Green went with his typical, go-to character: a nerdy, geeky boy who is madly in love with smart and beautiful girl. The quote, “every morning i pray that the school bus will crash and we'll all die in a fiery wreck. then my mom will be able to sue the school bus company for never making school buses with seat belts, and she'll be able to get more money for my tragic death than i would've ever made in my tragic life.” gives the reader an inside to will grayson’s mind.
