Another example, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) reveals that, “Concealed-carry laws allows certain individuals who pass a background check and usually a training course, with specifics depending on the state to carry a handgun or other weapons in public in a concealed manner” (Taylor, Danielle). The GAO which means the Government Accountability Offices are the ones in charge of who can carry handguns. In 2012, the GAO authorized over eight million permits for citizens to carry concealed handguns in the United States. Not to mention, “Congress has considered the issue of concealed carry permitting and the concept of national reciprocity. (gao.gov.n.pag.).” Congress has five Acts related to the same topic concealed carry.
