How can millions of dollars go to waste in a matter of three years you may ask yourself. Some of these young players live a life full of partying, drinking, and consumption of illegal drugs. If athlete’s salaries are reduced they will be more mindful about saving and being smart with their money. Although it may be a small percentage of athletes who live it still puts a bad reputation on the rest. Yes, I agree that it’s their money and they should be able to do what they want with it. But if you limit the amount of money they have then you may help prevent negative actions from happening in the future. Let’s be honest, if you see a lot of zeros on your bank account you won’t be as worried about what you are buying, this is what catches up to NFL players. Instead of paying players so much, the NFL could take money that may be used on partying and use it to help children in need. For example, everybody knows about the NFL Play 60 program. Now imagine if millions of potential athlete salaries were dumped into this. More children would be helped rather than more players getting into unwanted
