Essay On Why My Degree Is Important To Me

The event that influences my decision the get my degree is the job that I’m on now. I have been on this job for 15 years. I work for a CPA. Within the 15 years I have only had 1 raise. I make 7.50 an hour. That’s .25 over the minimum wage. I’m not a high school student; I’m a 56 year old woman. Whenever they hire someone new, they pay them more than me. I’m fed up with this. I have been struggling to make ends meet for a long time. One of the bosses said that I am the only one that she can count on. If I’m the only one that they can count on to come to work, they need to appreciate that and pay me the salary that I should get. Getting my degree in Business Administration give me more choices for a career and a higher pay. I have seen some older customers that come into the office that’s older than me get their degree, and changed their careers. …show more content…
I feel if they can do it I know that I can. I have two adult children and 7 grandchildren. I want my grandchildren to see that grandma went to school and got her degree. I want them to be proud of me and also let them see that you’re never too old to get a college degree. Some might say that I’m too old, but I’m not. I can do this. Some classes may be a little challenging, because I have not been in school for such a long time, but I will do this. I’m not the type to give up. I’m very pleased that CCU is a Christian School. I believe in GOD. I have faith in all that I do because I know that GOD is there to help my. My faith was tested back in 2012. I was diagnosed with endometria cancer. I cried for a little while, and then I said to GOD, I can’t go through this alone, I need you. I had my surgery May 2013 and I have been healed. I have to thank GOD for healing me.
